Resume Makeover

Everyone needs to take stock of their style sometimes, maybe a change in hairstyle, clothing…. The same goes for resume's (believe it or not) it's a good idea to review your resume on a regular basis. Ensure that it is up to date with new skills that you have acquired, learning/training that has taken place and work experience.

• Look at your resume. You might be currently employed or are not looking to change positions. You never know when an opportunity might arise, make sure that your resume is updated and contains current information.
• Ask someone whose opinion you respect and who knows your skills and employment history well, to take a look at your resume. Ask them if your current resume highlights your skills effectively.
• Do your research. Take a look at resumes submitted by your peers who might be seeking out opportunities in the same field as you. Find out if there are any changes in the design of how information is being represented/ displayed on resumes by your potential competitors.
• Make the changes, check and re check to ensure that all of the information is accurate.
