First Impressions

It takes only 2-3 minutes for the average person to form a first impression. So do your best to leave the prospective employer with a good impression of you.

IMPRESSIONABLE CHECK LIST

Dress for success, "create the best possible image." It is important that you arrive at the interview well groomed, clean and neat.

THE HANDSHAKE

Always begin by shaking hands with the interviewer and introducing yourself to him/her.

THE ELEMENTS OF A HANDSHAKE

Make sure your handshake is firm. Place your hand in the other persons' and shake the hand up and down once or twice. Remember you don't have to squeeze the other persons' hand or hold it in a death grip.

Regardless if the interviewer is a man or a woman extend the same firm handshake. If the interviewer dosen't automatically extend his/her hand for you to shake, extend yours.

Always rise to your feet when shaking the interviewer's hand and introduce yourself. Don't forget to smile and look the interviewer in the eye.
